Abstract

This study was aimed to discuss the relationship between the behavior of financial socialization, attitude, intention and management of cross-strait college students from Taiwan and Hubei. The subjects were 1,068 college students from Taiwan and Hubei, China. The study was conducted through a questionnaire survey: The "Financial Socialization Scale", "Financial Attitudes Scale", "Financial Intention Scale" and "Financial Management Scale". The statistical methods used in this study were: description statistics, independent sample t test, reliability analysis, one-way ANOVA, two-way ANOVA, correlation analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, structural equation model and multi-group analysis. First of all, it was discovered through a structural equation model, that the attitude and management styles of cross-strait college students are influenced by peers and, to a greater degree, parents. Second, the data was compared through multi-group analysis of a structural equation model and significant differences were found with the three different paths taken by cross-strait college students: parental financial socialization, and financial intention, parental financial socialization and financial management, and financial attitude and financial intention. Based on the results and the suggestions concluded by the researchers, it is hoped that the teachers and people who work in the financial education field will have a new direction in thinking.
