Purpose – The purpose of the study is to identify the key success factors ofcrowdfunding projects by systematically review journal articles on crowdfunding spanning a six-year publishing period and find what makes crowdfunding campaigns successful.Design/methodology/approach – This paper presents a systematic literature review of crowdfunding articles published from 2014 to 2020 in peer-reviewed, English-speaking journals that are available on the Scopus database. Research content of the literature review, frequency and bibliometric data are analyzed in order to identify the key success factors of crowdfunding projects.Findings – In this study a systematic analysis of the literature review is carried out, which is devoted to the factors and their impact on the success ofcrowdfunding. Research limitations/implications – The literature under consideration is limited to certain factors and topics of articles. The results of this research can be used to launch a crowdfunding project in order to increase its success. Practical implications – This study provides valuable insights that can aid to establish and improve crowdfunding implementation processes. This study would benefit entrepreneurs and students who are eager to improve their knowledge about crowdfundingventures and investments.
