Abstract
「侘寂」美學源自於日本,匯集了東方禪美學的諸多要素,如質樸粗糙、素簡淡泊、不均齊、不對稱、不完美、未完成等,這樣的美學理念深深觸動了筆者。藝術作品反映了一位創作者的生活態度與價值取向,創作者將自己受到的感動藉由適當的媒材傳達給觀賞者,在這樣的過程中完成了美的傳遞並藉以闡揚藝術之精神。禪宗是佛教眾多宗派之一,佛教與禪宗自印度傳至中國,後由中國傳往日本並在日本發揚茁壯,禪美學也遵循著這樣的歷史軌跡,最終在日本深化至常民生活的各個層面,「侘寂」美學於焉形成。而日本燦爛輝煌的禪文化在近代傳至西方歐美諸國時,由於各種政治歷史背景等因素,加上日本禪學者鈴木大拙不遺餘力地著述講學,西方世界對禪學的喜愛與研究也在繪畫藝術上產生重要影響。本論文旨在研究禪宗的美學概念如何影響了「侘寂」美學的呈現,因此關於佛教典籍要義及佛理之闡述並不在研討範圍內,只會在需要之處稍加提及。此外,禪不離生活,禪學始終強調「道在平常」,因此如何將禪學的思想要義融入日常生活中,也是筆者會略作探討之處。
本論文章節架構共五章。第一章「緒論」說明研究動機與目的、研究範圍與限制、研究方法與名詞釋義;第二章「學理探討」分別探究「寂」與「境」的美學意涵、梳理禪宗的美學理念由東方至西方遞嬗演變之脈絡、禪學與現代生活之關係、以及一探美術史中的禪美學作品;第三章「創作實踐」闡述筆者的創作理念、作品的形式與內容、以及採用的媒材與技法。本章節亦記錄了筆者自創作構想之始,乃至付諸實踐的過程;第四章「作品分析」針對創作研究之作品剖析說明;第五章「結論」將本創作研究之結果作一心得總結。
「業精於勤荒於嬉」,功夫來自於日積月累的堆疊,不論是修道或是創作,都貴在勤奮不懈的實踐。筆者也在這一段親身實踐的漫長過程裡,領略了某種類似於頓悟的驚喜,更加靠近自己的本心。
「寂境」是一個悟境,這個悟是更加瞭解自心。面對瞬息萬變的外境,學會安頓自己的內心,將原本會浮動的心安住於寂然靜謐中,在不完美中仍能看見美;在寂境裡才能看見幸福的自己。
"Wabi-sabi" aesthetics originated from Japan and brings together many elements of Eastern Zen aesthetics, such as simplicity, roughness, simplicity, unevenness, asymmetry, imperfection, unfinishedness, etc. This aesthetic concept deeply touched the author. . Zen aesthetics also followed this historical trajectory, and eventually deepened into all aspects of people's lives in Japan. When Japan's splendid Zen culture spread to Western European and America in modern times, various political and historical backgrounds and other factors, as well as the Japanese Zen scholar Suzuki Ojo who spared no effort in writing and teaching, the Western world's love and research on Zen was also reflected in paintings. It had an important influence on art, especially Abstract Expressionism. The second chapter of this paper will sort out the aesthetic concepts of Zen Buddhism and its evolution from the East to the West in a historical way. This paper aims to study how the concept of Zen aesthetics affects the presentation of"Wabi-sabi" aesthetics. Therefore, the elaboration of the essence of Buddhist classics and Buddhist principles is not within the scope of the study. In addition, Zen is inseparable from life, and Zen has always emphasized that "the Tao is in the ordinary." Therefore, how to integrate the ideological essence of Zen into daily life is also something the author will briefly discuss. "Excellence comes from hard work and fades from play". Over time. Accumulation results in expertise Whether cultivation or creation, it all depends on diligent and unremitting practice. Chapter three records the author's process from the beginning of creative conception to implementation. In this long process of personal practice, the author experienced some kind of surprise similar to an epiphany, and got closer to one’s original intention. "Serenity" is a state of enlightenment. This enlightenment is a better understanding of one's own mind. Facing the ever-changing external environment, learn how to settle your floating heart in silence. You can still embrace beauty in imperfection; only in serenity can you find your happiness.
