Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine whether the concentration game can effectively improve visuospatial working memory ability in kindergarten children. In this study, 32 5-year-old children were randomly assigned to "experimental group" and "waiting control group". Two groups of children were asked to play the concentration game 5 times a week for two weeks. The results showed no immediate effect of intervention on the related ability of visuospatial working memory for both groups; however, the experimental group had a significant delayed effect on visuospatial working memory performance, and the delayed effect cannot be fully accounted by the practice effect. However, considering the small number of samples in the current study, the conclusion of this study is still to be verified by the follow-up large sample study. Nevertheless, it provides preliminary evidence for the role of concentration game in improving the performance of visuospatial working memory in young children.
