Abstract
This research study explores the significance of tattoos among Taiwan youth, analyzes the role of tattoo culture in this demographic, and examines the influence of social media on tattoo culture. The research methods included purposive sampling, document analysis, and interviews with Taiwan youth as the subjects. The study found that Taiwan youth' choice to get tattoos is influenced by online communities. To gather data on perceptions of various aspects of tattooing, the researcher conducted interviews with 10 college students at a university in northern Taiwan, using a convenience sampling method. The study also included the perspective of tattoo artists in the interview process to document and analyze the participants' reactions. 1. The multiple meanings of tattoos: The analysis of literature and interview results revealed that tattoos hold different meanings for different people. There is a close connection between the choice of tattoo patterns and personal expression, indicating that tattoos are not just an external decoration, but also a reflection of one's inner world. In addition to the varied societal interpretations, tattooing is seen as a life process, a choice, and a presentation of the micro-society. 2. The role of tattoo culture among Taiwan youth: The study revealed that group belonging is no longer the primary motivator for contemporary Taiwan youth seeking tattoos. This shift is attributed to changes in the identity of tattooists and the rapid influence of social media on every user. 3. The impact of social media on tattoo culture: The Internet field has played a great role in promoting tattoo culture. Tattoo culture is spread silently around the world without time differences andspace restrictions, coupled with the streaming between networks In the form of cooperation, through advertising and the influence of Internet big data, young people are also unconsciously travelling across a variety of social media platforms, actively (or perhaps passively) browsing topics of interest to them, which invisibly increases Tattoo audience.
