Abstract
The purpose of this study is to (1) examine the predictive situation of athletes' proactive personality for sports performance and athlete satisfaction; (2) examine the predictions of different coaches' leadership styles for sports performance and athlete satisfaction; and (3) examine the interaction effect between athletes' proactive personality and different coaching styles on sports performance and athlete satisfaction. After received the informed consent, all participants were asked to complete proactive personality scale, autonomy supporting coach leadership style scale, controlling coach leadership style scale, self-evaluation sports performance scale and satisfaction scale . Research data were analyzed by Pearson’s correlation and multiple hierarchical regression. The results showed that: (1) athletes' proactive personality can positively predict athlete performance and satisfaction; (2) autonomy supporting coaching leadership style can be positively predict athlete performance and satisfaction, and controlling coaching leadership style did not predictive effect (3) Proactive personality and different coach leadership styles have no interaction effect on predicting athlete performance and satisfaction. Based on the research results and discussion, this study proposes recommendations for practical application and subsequent research development.
