旅人的體驗與視界:《臺灣教育會雜誌》漢文報的遊記敘事

Abstract
旅遊文學不僅是空間移動體驗的紀錄,且蘊含旅人投身自然或人文環境的感知,其敘事位置更反映作者的視界。台灣十七世紀到當代的旅遊文學蔚為長流,其中,遊記具散文體敘事特質,爬梳文本並參照相關研究成果,將有助於釐析旅遊文學史的發展脈絡。因《臺灣教育會雜誌》為日治時期發刊長久的系列雜誌,且於1903(明治36)年到1927(昭和2)年增設漢文報,在臺灣文學場域上頗具代表性。本專題研究計畫以此雜誌的漢文報為主要範疇,探討所收錄台灣與日本遊記的敘事意義,並論析旅人的現場體驗與視域。這些作者多為台灣總督府國語學校的師生,或是如林呈祿、王敏川、張淑子等關注教育的人士,亦有一些傳統文人如吳德功以及中村櫻溪等日本學者。遊記或流露作者的地方感與認同,或於字裡行間隱含殖民權力的滲透,此類旅遊文學與文化之間的關聯,亦是值得研究的議題。故從台灣意象、八景書寫、修學旅行、參觀共進會、現代性體驗等面向詮釋文本;同時分析遊記文體的功能性、內容佈局、詩文對話以及作者的視域等,有關遊記主題與形式的表現策略。又為呈顯此刊物所載遊記與日治時期遊記的共性與殊性,故與刊登於《台灣日日新報》、《台灣民報》等系列報刊的遊記主題相比較,以期為台灣旅遊文學史料的蒐羅及詮釋貢獻心力。
Travel literature not only serves as the record of experiencing spatial movements, but contains a traveler’s perception when being in the natural or cultural environment; the narrative position, furthermore, reflects the author’s field of view. Travel literature in Taiwan has a long-term history dating from the seventeenth century to the present age. Taiwanese travel narrative has a characteristic of prose narration. Selecting from the broad collection of texts and referring to related research results enables one to map the historical development of travel literature. Among the various texts, Taiwan Education Association Magazine had a representing position in the field of Chinese literature for its long publication period in Japanese Colonial Era and its Chinese section appearing from 1903 (Meiji 36 ) to 1927 (Showa 2 ). The research aims to explore the meaning of the travel writings both from Chinese and Japanese background collected by the magazine’s Chinese section and analyze the traveler’s on-the-spot experience and field of view. The authors of these works were mainly students or faculty of Taiwan Govenor-General Chinese School, or people who concerned about education like Lin Cheng-Lu, Wang Min-Chuan and Chang Shu-Tsu and some traditional literati, for example, Wu De-Gung and Nakamura Sakuradani. These travel writings sometimes reveal the author’s sense of regionality or identification, or even the infiltration of colonial power. The connection between these travel writings and culture is also something worthy of researching. The research start from the interpretation of the texts through aspects of Taiwanese image, writings on the Eight Views, educational excursions, experiences of visiting Gon Jing Hui , and expirences of modernity. At the same time, the research expound on themes such as the function of travel writing, its contents, settings, dialogues within prose and poetry, and application of certain form. Also, in order to present the homogeneity and heterogenity between the travel writings recoreded by Taiwan Education Association Magazine and the travel writings composed during Japanese Colonial Era, the research also compare the selected texts with serial publications like Chinese Taiwan Daily News and Taiwan Minbao. The ultimate goal of this research is to contribute to the collection and explanation of historical materials on Taiwanese travel literature.
