    綠色行銷因子下新世代的綠色消費意願
    (2012) 許玲禕; Ling-I Hsu
The impact of all kinds of environmental problems and energy crisis alarms the world. As a citizen of the global village, any corporation in Taiwan has the duty to take its own social responsibility to help mitigating the environmental and societal problem while striving for the financial performance. Therefore the concept of “sustainable development” is brought out while design and produce new products. To investigate how to raise the intention of young generation in green consumption and the difference between Non-profit organizations and For-profit organizations, we combine psychology and marketing concept to propose a new conceptual framework for green consumption. To do so, we choose Tzu Chi’s recycled POLO shirts as the green product provided by Non-profit organization (NPO) and Timberland’s recycled POLO shirts as the green product provided by For-profit organization (FPO) to be our objects and postulate respective hypotheses. A hypothetical model is established to analyze these constructs and their correlations in the proposed conceptual frameworks. For the research findings, firstly, multiple regression results proved consumer perceived values variables and green purchase attitude variables have significant effect on green purchase intention for green products provided by Non-profit organization. On the other side, product-related information acquisition variables and consumer perceived value variables have significant effect on green purchase intention for green products provided by For-profit organization. The outcomes discovered the characteristics of Taiwan environmental organizations and pointed out room for the industry’s improvement. Secondly, PLS analysis pointed out that green marketing factors do have significant effect on green purchase intention for green products provided by Non-profit and For-profit organizations. Only the price comparison variable is not significant which may demonstrates the young generation does not perceived the value of green products by using the price index. Also, it improves the problem of multiple regression analysis. At last, some recommendations for the Non-profit and For-profit organizations, and future researches were provided.

Transitional Change of Labor Migration from Technology Based to Knowledge Based Economy in United States during 1970 to 2008
    (2010) 羅依安; Ysela Andrea Logan
In the inception of Globalization fueled by the world becoming one large economy, the United States of America, privileged as one of the pioneers in world power had its fair share of changes in terms of political, social and economic disparities. In addition, the Markov Chain Model is applied to American statistical data in the different sectors to determine the extent of movement within the American labor force. Presently, the United States of America is a composite of fifty states and four regions; this is then analyzed from three perspectives: Region, Industry and Time period spanning 39 years. The purpose of this study are to observe the pattern in movement of people to any particular region, to look at the mobility from one sector to another, and also to use past and present data to create a forecast of labor migration patterns for future years to come. The United States of America endured many transformations in the last three decades which brought numerous challenges, success and redefinition of what is presently known as the USA. Also, the economic conversion from primary to secondary and tertiary sector in the time period is considered influential to US labor migration. Therefore, structure change and the movement of the work force from industry to industry are discussed in this paper.

Settling in Overseas: An Investigation into the Volunteering Experience of Western Residents in Taiwan
    (2010) Nawrocik Maria Jadwiga
Influenced by the climate of globalization, today more Westerners travel to Taiwan countries to expand their business or for advanced study. In a new cultural context, these people face the issue of cultural adaptation. This study presents findings of an investigation into the volunteering experience of Westerners in Taiwan. The population studied is Western migrants who work in Taiwan and who engage in volunteering as a leisure activity. This is an explorative study investigating a group of volunteers from two Taiwanese non-profit organizations, Animals Taiwan and Taiwan Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The study first examines the motivation of foreigners to become volunteers. Then it proceeds to discuss cultural adaptation of the volunteers. Cultural adaptation is assumed to consist of psychological and sociocultural adaptation and the findings of the study are divided into these two groups. Although the study examines the issue of cultural adaptation from an individual perspective, it is expected, however, that the findings improve the understanding of the issue of foreign volunteer management in NPOs.
