The displaced and deformed halftone dots are used to encode data in the personalized stamps. The modified error diffusion techniques for addressing the halftone dots in six colors are proposed to make efficient use of the image area and to hide information. After outputting the encoded hologram, which is in analog format, an independent data recovery system is applied to capture the encoded holographic image and to extract the hidden information. The results show that it is feasible to hide data in a dot-matrix hologram. The method proposed in this research can achieve multiple security features for hologram in anti-counterfeiting applications.Item Design of halftone-based AR markers under infrared detection.(2008-12-14) H.C. ChenAs the technology of augmented reality (AR) is getting matured, the application of AR to various fields, especially in a creative manner, become an attractive research topic. The objective of this research is to propose a method for a halftone-based hidden marker for AR tracking system under infrared (IR)detection. Our design method is based on the ordered dithering and the characteristic of carbon black under IR. It provides AR system a novel solution for the marker design, which can make the human-computer interface become much more natural. The results show that the AR marker is invisible by human eyes, but appears under IR.
