Abstract
In a 2010 speech to graduates of his alma mater Princeton University, Amazon founder JEFF BEZOS encouraged students to"create exciting stories for themselves" (Jingji Wu, 2020). The greatest learning for graduate students entering the Institute for Creative Development is the acquisition of diverse ways of thinking, and actively trying to put into practice what they have learned in their encounters with self-media, film and television creation. "Quilt Elf" is a fantasy story based on love and courage, which was originally an unfinished original novel written by a graduate student. The story is based on thetraditional folklore of families sewing quilts for their children. Through the dream world, the"Quilt Elf", who is transformed into a quilt, leads the children to break through difficulties, experience love and warmth, and learn how to think and solve problems when they encounter them. "Everyone has magic, but you often forget that it exists. The magic refers to the six hats in the family's love and creative thinking technique. With love and the six hats thinking, one can face all kinds of difficulties in life. In terms of expression, the graduate student attempts to present "QuiltElf " in the form of a stage play, planning to use multi-media and limited reality to give unlimited imagination. The first chapter of this paper is the introduction, which describes the motivation and purpose of the graduate student's creation of the play "Quilt Elf ". Chapter 2 is the concept of creation. On the one hand, it explains the origin of the play creation, including the introduction of the folk customs of the quilts in Taiwan and other countries around the world, and how to integrate the creative thinking techniques learned into the play creation, and the graduate student's interpretation of the play by combining realism and fantasy. On the other hand, the students will explain why they chose the stage performance among the many ways to present the results of the play. The third chapter is the interpretation of the play "Quilt Elf ", which describes the story context, scene outline, plot structure analysis, character analysis and play interpretation. The fourth chapter is the sharing of creative achievements, including the selection of actors and actresses, music, venue design, and video design. Chapter 5 is a discussion and suggestions.
