Abstract
In this thesis, the Narrative Inquiry is taken as a research method to study an experienced reality during a golden age, based on my personal story as a badminton contestant for twenty two years. My father was a coach of an elementary school badminton team. Thus I has a connection with badminton since I was three years old. I won the first place of female badminton contest in Taiwan when I was seventeen. I was the youngest female winner ever. In the following contests, I won more and became a new lead of female badminton game in Taiwan. When I was eighteen, I reached the top of my career since I equalized -the performance of best Taiwan women's singles in the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. Four years later, I was injured in the Beijing 2008 Olympic. And I lost confidence and motive to continue my badminton career. The more you expect, the more you despair. I fell from the top and a thought of give up came to my mind. But I conquered it, reconstructed my self in mental and recovered my selfhood step by step. This is my story, and could be a common heartfelt wishes of some contestants. By my experience, I would like to tell the other contestants that there is a trace can be followed to success. To collapse after one setback is helpless. At the opposite side, retrieving the motive of pure and happiness at the first place is the most important motivation behind a contestant.
