zh_TW
In the field of visual art history, artists express their personal perception of different spaces and their individual journey of inner life by depicting the scenery of daily life. Painting, as a significant medium, serves the function of carrying messages. Thus, a history of painting could, in fact, be seen as a visual history of spatial discovery. However, with the transition of society and culture, one’s perspective is changed through different points of view. The understanding of images and ways of seeing also impact the art maker’s mental state, and, in my opinion, play a compelling force in art making. The main focus of this dissertation is on space perception in paintings. This study is intended to give insightful thoughts and arguments by exploring the connection between images and ways of seeing through the use of elements consistent in paintings, images, photos, signs, and text. In contrast, the art features and space phenomenon in related theories with their unique perspectives will be highlighted. In addition, the essence of painting and the unique expression of the artist will be considered. By combining the text of signs and images, multiple dialogues of the space of painting from visual experience, cultural contexts, and material memories develop. As an art maker, I strive to transform these thoughts into my own art practice. Along the way, I discover natural scenery, window frames, images of flowers and animals in daily life while transferring thoughts of personal perception and exploration into the unique space of the Zen landscape. This journey also becomes an essential part of the thinking and reflection in my own art making.en_US
