正體漢字部件教學之學習成效研究—以華語初級越南移工為例

Abstract

每年在臺灣工作的外籍移工人數逐年上升。在製造業、營建業、養護機構、家庭幫傭、看護工及營造業等各工作領域都能證明移工在臺灣的勞動力市場早已扮演十分重要的角色。在臺灣,越南移工是一個龐大的外籍移工族群,他們在生活和工作中都需要使用到華語,包括漢字的閱讀和書寫。由於越南移工漢字學習存在著較大的困難。因此如何有效地幫助越南移工學習漢字,提高其漢字學習能力成為一個值得探討的問題。由於長期接觸移工教學的領域,研究者發現越南移工學習華語需要克服的困難,同時向找出適宜的改善方案。針對越南移工閱讀與識字的研究卻寥寥無幾。本研究旨在探討將正體漢字之部件教學應用於越南移工華語初級課程中的可行性和效果。本研究選取21位越南移工作為研究對象,以線上教學方法實施了10週的正體漢字部件教學課程。研究者採用問卷調查、實驗教學和成效測驗等來評估課程的效果。研究結果顯示,越南移工對正體漢字部件教學有著相當高的興趣和學習動機,並對正體漢字部件教學有較高的接受度和滿意度。在學習成效方面,學習者在認讀漢字方面均取得顯著進步。正體漢字部件教學幫助學習者理解漢字的組成原理,進一步提升其漢字學習能力。此外,本研究發現由於具有線上科技輔助,線上部件教學具有潛力達到甚至超越實體教學的效果,為教育領域帶來更多元的可能性。
The number of foreign migrant workers coming to Taiwan for employment has been steadily increasing each year. They play a vital role in various sectors, including manufacturing, construction, care facilities, domestic caregiving, nursing, and construction. In Taiwan, Vietnamese migrant workers represent a significant foreign labor force. They require the use of Mandarin Chinese in their daily lives and work, including reading and writing Chinese characters. Learning Chinese characters, particularly Hanzi (Chinese characters), poses a considerable challenge for Vietnamese migrant workers. Therefore, finding effective ways to help them learn Chinese characters and improve their literacy skills is a crucial issue. Having worked in the field of migrant worker education for an extended period, the researchers have identified the difficulties that Vietnamese migrant workers face in learning Mandarin Chinese. The aim is to find appropriate solutions to address these challenges. However, there is limited research on Vietnamese migrant workers reading and character recognition skills.This study investigates the feasibility and effectiveness of incorporating traditional Chinese character components into a basic Mandarin Chinese course for Vietnamese migrant workers. This study selected 21 Vietnamese migrant workers as participants and implemented a 10-week traditional Chinese character component teaching program using online instructional methods. Data collection methods included surveys, experimental teaching, and achievement tests to evaluate the course's effectiveness. The results revealed that Vietnamese migrant workers exhibited a high level of interest and motivation for learning traditional Chinese character components. They also expressed a high degree of acceptance and satisfaction with this teaching approach. In terms of learning outcomes, participants made significant progress in recognizing and writing Chinese characters. Teaching traditional Chinese character components helped students understand the structural principles of Chinesecharacters, thereby enhancing their overall Chinese character learning abilities. Furthermore, this study found that, due to the assistance of online technology, online component-based instruction has the potential to achieve, and even surpass, the effectiveness of traditional classroom instruction, bringing forth a greater diversity of possibilities in the field of education.
